Fernando Sor’s Marlbrough s’en va-t-en guerre, featuring five variations on a popular theme, highlights Sor’s lasting influence on guitar music. The album concludes with Manuel Maria Ponce’s vibrant Concierto del Sur, recorded with the Zürich University of the Arts symphony orchestra under the direction of Jens Lohmann.
