| “This whole process has been an experiment and a super fun journey for me, where I’ve handed over my music to producers from the international clubbing scene, giving them total freedom to reinterpret it from its core,” Nathy shares. “With this project, I also pushed the boundaries of my creative process by exploring collaboration through remixes. ‘CLUB GRASA’ reflects one of the intentions of the album: that each person can make it their own and feel it in their own unique way.
The song “MENINA,” which features Spanish-Brazilian break-out star Lua de Santana, was remixed by Grammy-winning British producer Mura Masa. “I think Nathy is really wonderful and ‘GRASA’ is such a great album with a real sonic identity,” shares Alex Crossen aka Mura Masa. “I wanted to take what she and Lua de Santana had done with the original ‘MENINA’ and re-contextualise those conceptual elements from the feel of the album into a more club-friendly setting without compromising that identity. It was amazing being able to reimagine the world around those lyrics and the energetic delivery of the vocals. It came very naturally and quickly.” Spanish artist nusar3000 remixed “Real” with his adrenaline-pumping style which explores Mediterranean influences. 20-year-old artist TRISTÁN!, part of Madrid’s avant pop collective Rusia-IDK, remixed “Corleone” with his synth-futurist sound. Argentine DJ & producer Tayhana remixed “Aprender A Amar” with her aggressive and bold approach. Argentine DJ & producer Garoto 3000 remixed “Manhattan” with his genre-defying hybrid which evokes both nostalgia and novelty. Spanish producer PHOAC brought his experimental approach to his “Ideas Radicales” remix. Madrid DJ & producer Merca Bae remixed “La Presa” with his blend of Caribbean rhythms with heavy bass and industrial beats. Colombian producer CRRDR remixed “Todo Roto” with his fusion of tribal beats with Latin club music. Next month, Peluso will launch the GRASA World Tour at the legendary Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City.
