| Legendary film music – Cinema Classics album: A sky full of violins or jazz bars that create tension – what would a film be without its soundtrack? It reveals more than a thousand words. In the famous love scene from Alfred Hitchcock’s psychological thriller Vertigo, the protagonist’s contradictory feelings are reflected in the music alone: hope, doubt and ecstasy – all condensed into a few notes. The album Cinema Classics – Iconic Film Scores brings together excerpts from the soundtracks of numerous legendary cinema films, including – among many others – The Godfather (music: Nino Rota), James Bond chases Dr No (music: John Barry), Lawrence of Arabia (music: Maurice Jarre), Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Jurassic Park (music: John Williams) as well as The Lord of the Rings – The Fellowship of the Ring (music: Howard Shore). The older original soundtracks were recorded in the sound quality of the 50s and 60s, sometimes even in mono. This new recording with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg conducted by Marko Letonja offers a completely new listening experience. Producer Damien Quintard, who reopened the Miraval Studios together with Brad Pitt, was responsible for the recordings. Records by Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Rammstein and Sting were produced in the legendary studios from the 70s to the late 90s.
